Our Group Tutoring in Edmonton is designed to help early learners build a strong foundation in key academic skills through personalized attention and engaging group interaction. We currently focus on Alberta Mathematics curriculum support for students in Kindergarten to Grade 4, offered through in-person small group sessions with a 3:1 student-to-tutor ratio.

Each session provides individualized guidance while encouraging collaboration and confidence among peers. Students strengthen essential math skills such as number sense, basic operations, problem-solving, and mathematical reasoning—all in a fun, supportive environment that makes learning enjoyable and effective.

Our Group Tutoring Program is priced at $145 per month, which includes four in-person sessions led by experienced tutors dedicated to your child’s success.

Coming Soon: We are excited to expand our programs to include English Language Arts (ELA) and extend support for Grades 5 and 6, offering even more opportunities for continued growth in literacy, reading comprehension, writing, and math mastery.

Our math tutoring sessions for Kindergarten and Grade 1 build strong foundations in early numeracy through fun, engaging activities like books, songs, and play.

Our Grade 1 and Grade 2 math sessions are designed to build confidence, strengthen foundational skills, and prepare students for future success.

Our Grade 3 and 4 math tutoring helps children strengthen numeracy skills, build on what they’ve learned, and prepare for advanced concepts.

– Our program strives to be mindful of all types of learners and abilities.
– We welcome both advanced students and students needing extra help.

Are there age requirements?

– We can start with your child at the age of 4.
– Philosophy of meeting students where they are academically.
– Sessions are categorized by the material being taught. All students in a given session will be studying at the same grade level, but not necessarily of the same age.

What is the staff ratio and class size?

The maximum staff ratio is 1 educator to 3 students.

Is homework given?

Homework and at-home activities are available and encouraged and will be given upon the request of the parent.

Are there assessments or progress reports?

– There are no formal assessments before the start of the sessions.
– Progress and skills are noted at the end of every session. Regular feedback is provided to each family.
– Each grade has a set of Government of Alberta learning outcomes. Once a student has mastered the core learning outcomes for a given grade, we will recommend that they move to the next grade level.

How long should I expect my child to need tutoring with Family Futures Resource Network?

– Our program runs all year with the exception of statutory holidays.
– Student success benefits from consistent, weekly sessions.
– We ask for a minimum commitment of one month (4 weeks) to work on the student’s area of concern. However, we recommend students register for a full school term for greater student support and success.
– Families can determine their child’s learning needs month to month, and register accordingly.

Are caregivers required to stay during the session?

Caregivers are required to sign in and sign out their child, but are not required to stay the full class time.

Are caregivers allowed in the tutoring room?

A space is provided for parents wanting to wait for their child, but not in the tutoring room itself.

Cancelation Policy

An administrative fee of $20 will be applied to all cancellations. No refunds will be issued less than 7 days prior to the start of the session.
