Feeling spontaneous? Family Futures Resource Network offers a variety of drop-in programs for those birth-18 years old, as well for caregivers in the Edmonton area.
14–18 years | Drop in and experience unique and creative ways to express yourself, and connect with others interested in art. Expand your artistic abilities and increase your self awareness using different art materials and techniques in a relaxed and fun environment.
Birth–3 years | Bring your toddlers to an engaging and safe play space. Play experiences will be set up for you and your child to explore at your own pace. This is an unstructured play time with a focus on providing an opportunity for you to spend time with your child and meet other parents.
2–5 years | Is your child full of energy? Bring them to this active program where they will develop physical literacy through games, music and activities such as dancing, and parachute time. Come join in the fun and meet other families! NEW! Weather permitting, part of this program will take place outdoors to help improve overall health and wellbeing and connect with nature in the community. Please arrive dressed for the weather.
1–5 years | Play experiences will be set up for male caregivers and their children to explore at their own pace. This is an unstructured play time providing an opportunity to spend time with your child and meet other caregivers.
4–6 years | Come and explore, discover, and create new things with your child. Activity centers are designed to enhance learning and creativity, engage the senses, build skills and most of all, are fun. Drop in at any time or join in for the whole time.
Youth ages 13-18 years | Looking for a place to “hang out” with friends, enjoy music, play games, create art, do some improv or other activities? Share your interests, activity and game ideas with us to make unforgettable memories with both old and new friends.
For children ages: 2–6 years | Playdates are fun and a great way to learn! This ‘loose parts’ interactive session provides a great opportunity to meet other caregivers and their children. This program is designed to help your child develop their creativity, exploration, and social skills while supporting their development through play. Please bring a nut-free snack for your child.
3–6 years | During this program we explore relaxation, calming, emotions, and mindfulness, for children. Learn to be aware of and manage emotions in a way that is fun and meaningful. It is also a very nice way to spend time connecting with your child. NEW! Weather permitting, part of this program will take place outdoors to help improve overall health and wellbeing and connect with nature in the community. Please arrive dressed for the weather.
2–6 years | Storytelling is the art of bringing a story to life and passing on culture and history. Each week a classic children’s story will be brought to life through arts, crafts, and activities. Join your child on a story teller’s journey as they let their imagination soar while telling their own story.
2–6 years | Drop In and join in these one day sessions of fun, messy play and sensory exploration and leave the mess with us! Plus, take home a sample of your creations and the recipe so that you can recreate the experience again at home. Pleae only attend one time so others may have an opportunity.
Birth–6 years | Family Futures Resource Network is offering this group in partnership with the Dayspring Presbyterian Church. Parents, caregivers and children come together to meet, learn, socialize, and have fun. Coffee will be provided. Please bring beverages and nut free snacks for your children.
Birth–3 years | This fun and interactive program includes stories, musical movement, rhymes and creative props. Connect with your little one in this literacy, arts and movement program with time built in between activities to interact with other children and families.
Family Futures Resource Network provides information, education and support to individuals, parents and families. We are the only family resource centre in south Edmonton, that offers this range of services and programs. We are a network of programming sites embedded within the communities we serve.
