Family Futures is EXPANDING and opening a new location in south east Edmonton! We are looking for an experienced and passionate individual for the newly created position of:

 

 

Family & Adult Superviser
(Permanent/Full-Time)

Reporting to the Community Support Manager, the Family and Adult Supervisor is a member of the Leadership Team and is responsible for delivering and developing programs providing support to families (including parenting education) and adults as well as organizing events. The Family and Adult Supervisor will recruit, hire, train, and supervise program staff, volunteers, and students. This includes conducting performance appraisals, managing schedules, monitoring program delivery, agency administration, and committee work when needed. The Family and Adult Supervisor is responsible for the facility management of the south west location, developing partnerships with organizations, and attending network events and meetings.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Post-Secondary Diploma in a Human Services field or equivalent.
  • 3 years’ experience working with families and adults in a preventative capacity.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a paid supervisory role.
  • Current certification in First Aid/CPR and Suicide Intervention.
  • Solid understanding of child development and family dynamics is essential.
  • Strong facilitation skills.
  • Experience of working with marginalized and/or culturally diverse groups is an asset.
  • Experience of program development and facilitation for children, families and adults.
  • Understanding of current trends and issues impacting families with young children.
  • Experience with the recruitment, training, and supervision of staff members.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and collaborative skills.
  • Strong professional boundaries.
  • Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule, work environment and work demands.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft computer applications.
  • Valid Police Information Check and Alberta Children’s Services Intervention Check.

Hours of Work:

  • Full time position - 37.5 hours/week.
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule, which could include daytime, evening and weekend hours (Saturdays).

Program Facilitator
(Permanent/Full-Time)

As a member of our Family & Adult team, the Program Facilitator delivers a range of family and adult programming, including programs with children in their early years. This position will also provide referrals and outreach services to program participants; assist in other program areas, and carry out agency administration. 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience of program development and strong group facilitation skills
  • Knowledge of family dynamics, childhood development, and age appropriate behavioral management strategies
  • Familiar with and knowledge of accessing community resources
  • Experience of working with families from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
  • Excellent  communication, computer and organization skills
  • Strong networking skills and the ability to be a respectful and collaborative team member
  • Previous Triple P and ASQ training is an asset

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma/Degree in a relevant Human Service field
  • Minimum of three years program facilitation with experience of working with families

Hours of Work:

  • Full time position - 37.5 hours/week.

Child and Youth Liaison
(Permanent/Full-Time)

As part of the programming team, the Child & Youth Liaison will deliver family support programming (including working with early years) and facilitate groups for children and youth using our Kids with Confidence curriculum aimed at social skill development. The role will also be responsible for delivering our spring break and summer camp programs, school-based programs, evening youth programming, program evaluation, and agency administration.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of a Post-Secondary Diploma in a Human Services field or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 years direct experience working with families with children and youth in a preventative setting.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Solid understanding of child/youth development and family dynamics.
  • Energetic with strong facilitation skills.
  • Ability to build trusting, positive relationships with individuals using a strength-based, non-judgmental approach.
  • Understanding of current trends and youth work practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and collaborative skills.
  • Strong professional boundaries.
  • Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule, work environment and work demands.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team and independently.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft computer applications.

Activities Programmer
(Temporary/Full-Time)

Anticipated Term: June 1, 2017 – May 31, 2018

The Activities Programmer will deliver programming for parents, children and families.  In addition, this position will be involved in planning, coordinating and delivering special events geared for the development of children birth to 12 years of age (i.e. Winter Fun Days, Hangin’ With Dad); assist in other program areas; and carry out agency administration as needed.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent knowledge of early childhood development
  • Experience in program facilitation, development, evaluation and data collection
  • Experience planning, coordinating & delivering large scale events
  • Assets: knowledge of community development and knowledge of the Early Development Instrument (EDI)
  • Energetic with strong facilitation skills
  • Ability to build a trusting, positive relationship with individuals using a non-judgmental approach
  • Strong professional boundaries
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work both as a member of a team and independently

Contract Facilitators

Family Futures Resource Network is seeking new opportunities to grow our programs!  We are currently recruiting casual Contract Facilitators to deliver programs in the area of early childhood development, child care, and adult support.  Experience working in early childhood development is essential.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in program facilitation and adult education.
  • Experience in curriculum delivery.
  • Direct experience working with families and children, including those who are marginalized and/or culturally diverse.
  • Solid knowledge of child development and family dynamics. 
  • Familiar with community resources to facilitate appropriate referrals.
  • Team player.  Computer literate.  Proficient verbal and written English.
  • Experience parenting own children an asset.
  • Valid Police Information Check and Alberta Children’s Services Intervention Check.

Hours of Work:  5-10 hours per week.  Willing to work a flexible schedule, which includes daytime and evening and weekend hours. Compensation is dependent on experience.
