Human Resource Supervisor

(Full Time Permanent/37.5 hrs/wk)

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Human Resource Supervisor.

The Human Resource Supervisor will maintain a welcoming environment and be knowledgeable about the programs and services offered at Family Futures Resource Network. They will be responsible for full cycle human resource recruitment and support; post job advertisements; organize resume submissions; conduct pre-screen interviews with candidates; present potential candidates for interviewing; assist with in person interviews, and conduct reference checks for paid staff members and volunteers. The Human Resource Supervisor will provide screening, orientation and training support for personnel at Family Futures Resource Network as well as maintain human resource files, policies, and orientation manuals.

The Supervisor will also be responsible for supervision of paid staff within the agency. 

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions:

  • Support HR activities such as hiring, onboarding, employee and volunteer life cycle adjustments and payroll;
  • Prepare materials, tools and documentation needed to support the HR process for the agency;
  • Prepare job descriptions, job ads and postings;
  • Assist with full cycle recruitment; schedule interviews and coordinate new personnel and volunteer paperwork;
  • Assist in coordinating orientation programs;
  • Prepare new personnel and volunteer information packages;
  • Coordinate with the internal agency Bookkeeper to answer questions related to payroll;
  • Compile and assist in the analysis of human resource data and metrics to support HR programs;
  • Provide assistance to personnel regarding benefit programs, policies and procedures;
  • Provide operational support including processing confidential reports and documents, filing electronic and hard copies, and arranging meetings;
  • Assist with coaching and managing employee relations;
  • Maintain confidentiality of HR information;
  • Assist with special assignments and projects;
  • Create and manage regular and ad hoc reports and assignments.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Post – Secondary Human Resource certification;
  • Member of Chartered Professionals in Human Resources an asset;
  • 1 – 3 years’ experience working in the Human Resource field;
  • 3 years’ experience as a supervisor;
  • Be at problem solving, including the ability to identify issues and resolve problems in a timely manner;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to maintain a neutral stance and mediate when needed;
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbally;
  • Be able to prioritize and plan work activities as to use time efficiently;
  • Be organized, accurate, thorough and able to monitor work quality;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Work, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Strong attention to detail and problem solving abilities;
  • Must have a recent Police Information Check and Alberta Children’s Services Intervention Check (completed within the last 3 months).

Community Resource Navigator

(Full Time Permanent/37.5 hrs/wk)

The Community Resource Navigator will assist individuals in finding solutions to their challenges by identifying and building on their strengths, assisting in finding tools and community resources to enrich their problem solving skills, and foster independence.  The Community Resource Navigator is responsible for building consistent, respectful and trusting relationships with individuals and families while helping them to set goals for growth.  This position will stay current with the processes and requirements of other helping agencies. The Community Resource Navigator will also assist and/or facilitate programs ranging from Early Childhood Development to Adult Education.

The Community Resource Navigator is a member of the Family Support team and will have responsibilities that include program development, facilitation and evaluation. The Community Resource Navigator will be actively involved in the external marketing of agency program and services.


  • Diploma/Degree in a Human Service field.
  • Strong knowledge of community resource management and how to access other agency programs.
  • Strong communication, computer and organization skills.
  • Experience working with families from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Strong networking and facilitation skills.
  • The ability to be a respectful and collaborative team member.
  • Ability to build a trusting, positive relationship with individuals using  strength based non-judgmental approach.
  • Ability to observe strict confidentially concerning personal information; strong professional boundaries.
  • Knowledge of mental health an asset.
  • Valid Police Information Check and Alberta Children’s Services Intervention Check.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle.

Hours of Work:

Full time position: 37.5 hours/week; willing to work a flexible schedule, which includes daytime and evening hours.

Family Mentor

(Full Time Permanent/37.5 hrs/wk)

The Family Mentor works in the Family Mentorship Program and is responsible for supporting families in their homes. They work collaboratively with families to set goals for their children’s health and well being while utilizing a solution-focused approach. The Family Mentor builds strong trusting relationships and provides support in: linking families with other services, providing relevant information and resources, helping parents/ caregivers with child development, and assisting families with positive parenting strategies.

In-home support is provided to families with children up to the age of five and those with prenatal needs. The Family Mentorship Program offers support on a weekly basis for families who are parenting for the first time and are experiencing multiple stressors that may impact their ability to parent successfully. As families develop support systems and learn to manage crises, the support visits decrease.


  • Minimum of a Post Secondary Diploma in a Human Services field.
  • Three (3) years direct experience working with families and children, including those who are marginalized and/or culturally diverse.
  • Ability to speak an additional language an asset.
  • Solid knowledge of child development and family dynamics.
  • Knowledge in maternal and infant health and knowledge in prevention of child abuse and neglect.
  • Familiar with community resources to facilitate appropriate referrals.
  • Experience providing support to families in their homes an asset.
  • Team player.  Computer literate.  Proficient verbal and written English.
  • Valid Police Information Check and Alberta Children’s Services Intervention Check.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle.

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours/week; willing to work a flexible schedule, which includes daytime, evening, and a possibly weekend hours.
